Andrea Palladio's work
In the moment in which Venice was looking for new economic
roads inland, Palladio invented a new model of villa-businesses which succeeded
in copies throughout the world, above all in America at the end of 1800.
The villas of Palladio were constructed in the Veneto area , above all in
the area of Vicenza, his adopted home, and in the area of Treviso. They were
constructed along the Brenta River, which permitted the links between Padua
and Venice, and there remains only the sumptuous, finely decorated "Malcontenta".
The other villas that populate the banks of the Brenta River, were made by
contemporaries that were inspired by the example of the works of Palladio.
